About Me

New York, New York
I enjoy simple things: solitude, cheap sheet cake, and sunlight. I also believe that white is, in fact, a color. Bring me fresh flowers and we can be friends.

Radio Silence

I'm taking a short break as my trusty Dell has finally bitten the dust.  Now I've got to decide if I want to fix it or dish out the cash for a shiny new MacBook.

Stick to a crappy computer and have my closet re-done, or splurge on a new one and live with a messy closet for a bit longer? Why can't I just have both?!

Kitchen Necessity

If you haven't noticed, I'm a big fan of order and symmetry.  Just the same, I am also a big fan of mismatched accessories.  I am a sucker for clean, uncluttered surfaces, but sometimes love to mix it up with a bit of disorder that makes a space feel lived in.  I had been meaning to hang up this knife magnet in my kitchen forever.  I snagged it at IKEA for almost nothing, and love the coziness it brings to the kitchen.

I am pleasantly surprised at it's strength, and it was very simple to hang.  A definite kitchen accessory in my book.  Having a set of varied knives in different shapes and colors gives it a "someone actually uses these" vibe.

(Please don't mind the disgusting mauve color on the wall to the left, it was a test and it clearly was not successful. I am open to any color suggestions, because I just can't come up with a good solution! )
